Video Analytics YouTube Insight
The Video Analytics YouTube Insight Summary provides a snapshot of the metrics about the performance and demographic reach of your YouTube videos. You are presented with a table of your top 10 videos over the specific period of time and links to reports with more in depth data on the far left column.
Video Analytics YouTube Insight Views Report
The Video Analytics YouTube Views report presents you with data about your YouTube video playbacks, providing both chronological and geographic breakdowns of your YouTube views, as well as the popularity of your YouTube videos across different regions. This Views data is updated in real time until your total views reaches 300, then it might take up to 24 hours for this data to update in Insight.
Video Analytics YouTube Insight Discovery Report
The Video Analytics YouTube Discovery report shows you how your YouTube viewers found your video – in other words, the source of the traffic. There are many ways people find videos: they search for them on YouTube, click Related Videos thumbnails, follow links from social networking websites like Twitter or Facebook or any one of a dozen video servers you may have uploaded the video too. I also use Viddler and Vimeo.
Video Analytics YouTube Insight Demographics Report
The Video Analytics YouTube Demographics report will help you understand the age and gender of your audience. You can adjust the time and geographic region to see how the breakdown of your audience varies. As you can see, my audience is heavy on the male side with a strong dose of “baby boomers” in the mix.
Video Analytics Insight Community Report
The Community report allows you to track how viewers are engaging with your videos through ratings, commenting, sharing, and favoriting. This report presents you with the total number of events per day in a given time period.
Video Analytics YouTube Insight
The Subscribers report shows you how many new or lost subscribers you have added or lost. This section is handy because it helps you understand your effectiveness at building a base of subscribers, and the geo regions where your channel is particularly popular. The report tells you how many users are subscribing and unsubscribing to your channel.
Video Analytics YouTube Insight Hot Spots
Hot Spots shows the ups-and-downs of viewership at each segment of your video compared to videos of similar length. If the line is above the Average line, your video has a higher percentage of viewers still watching your video and/or more people rewinding to re-watch that part of your video than other videos of similar length. The higher the graph, the hotter your video at that point in time. This is my favorite report. It tells me if my content is strong or weak vs. other videos.
